Microsoft Teams is the latest workplace chat-based platform in Office365 that brings together people, conversations and content so they can collaborate anytime, anywhere.
Multiple chat rooms can be created within a team, and to help keep chats easy to follow, conversations are threaded, flow from top to bottom, and, notify users of updates. If users need face-to-face conversation, they can jump straight into Skype voice or video chat with other channel participants with a single click.
As a business expands, team communications can become increasingly tangled and unmanageable. Ideally, in order to attain the most efficient business practices, you would aim to ensure that everyone across all the departments are in the loop. By doing this, it allows employees to ask questions, coordinate their tasks and better plan their own work all in real time. And this is precisely where Microsoft teams comes into play.
Microsoft is pushing the platform as being more than just a chat hub. The well-designed solution that is especially built to boost collaboration and productivity in business is integrated with Office 365. This means it is tied to other Microsoft Office services, such as Word and Excel, as well as its cloud storage and sharing services such as SharePoint, PowerPoint, OneNote, Planner, Power BI and Delve are also integrated with Teams.
In order to complete the vision, Microsoft partnered with Australia’s largest network provider Telstra to use Microsoft Teams in conjunction with Office 365 and Skype for Business to create the latest, most innovative solution; Telstra Calling for Office 365.
One of the main issues with many teams is the difficulty of tracking the various ways in which they are communicating. It quickly becomes difficult to juggle email threads a mile deep, numerous Skype conversations and possible hundreds of text messages. However, with Microsoft Teams, communication happens all in one place and can be organised into channels for different discussions.
Microsoft Teams is built on the Office 365 hyper-scale, enterprise-grade cloud, delivering the advanced security and compliance capabilities customers expect.
Accessible from anywhere, anytime
Microsoft Teams has a mobile app. When team members work from home, they’ll be able to keep up with their work communications as they run errands throughout the day
