Last week Microsoft unveiled their plans for the year in their Ignite event for 2021. Microsoft aims to help people connect, collaborate, and accomplish all your goals in 2021 with the latest Teams updates. Check out the summarised version down below.
Microsoft Teams is now able to arrange your viewing experience automatically as people join with video. The platform will adjust the layout to best fit everyone and create an inclusive environment.
The new addition to Teams is the view switcher. Switching between views, you may prefer to interact with your colleagues using Together mode or Gallery mode. Together mode places you in a meeting space collectively, whilst Gallery mode shows all video feeds in the meeting window. Lastly, Focus mode hides all video feeds and puts the shared content centralised.
Having the ability to use presenter mode will increase the production level of your presentations and enable you to customise the video feed and the way content looks to your audience. The first mode is Standout, which allows you to show your video feed as a silhouette in front of the shared content. Reporter mode places content as a visual aid above the shoulder of the presenter and finally side by side mode which displays the video feed next to the presenter.
PowerPoint Live in Microsoft Teams
This new feature gives presenters more control and confidence while providing a more interactive and inclusive experience to your audience. As a presenter, you will be able to lead meetings with a single view of your notes, slide, meeting chat, and participants. Attendees will also be able to check out the content at their own pace.
Live Reactions in Meetings
All attendees can now use emojis to react during a meeting at any time. These reactions can help keep the meetings more interactive and positive.
Attendee registration and email confirmations
You will be able to add a custom attendee registration page to your meetings or webinars and have the ability to manage attendance before and after any engagement. After the registration attendees can automatically receive an email confirmation for a simple joining experience.
1,000 Person interactive webinars with moderation control
Teams will support interactive meetings and webinars for 1000 attendees which will include live reactions, multiple presentation options, and moderation controls to disable chat, audio, and video for event attendees.
20,000 Person view only broadcasts
Once the webinar is larger than 1000 attendees, Teams will automatically accommodate a 20,000 person view-only experience. This will include host moderation control to automatically disable the attendee’s audio and video to prevent interruptions.
Following a webinar, you may now use reporting to analyse attendee participation such as who attended and how long they participated.
