New Microsoft Teams Apps to Power your Productivity

November 17th, 2020

Covid-19 has dramatically changed the way we live and work. Organisations all around the world took to a work from home or hybrid model. Initially, organisations just needed a video conferencing program to get them through the period however the situation has lasted longer than many thought, creating an environment where remote work needs to be more equipped for everything, not just video conferencing.  Teams can integrate many apps to help better serve the customer’s needs, streamline work, and create more productive employees.

Teams is overall designed to bring together chat, meetings, call, collaboration, and apps all in one place. The Teams platform is then customizable based on your organisation with the app store. Today there have been many more Teams apps made readily available to help your workflow.

For Teams meetings, there has been the addition of nearly 20 new apps to help fuel collaboration and meeting effectiveness, found here. Here are just a few examples of what’s to come, Asana, Slido, Monday.com as well as Microsoft apps like Forms.

As an example, many customers have taken to using Asana in Teams chat and channels to manage projects and track tasks. Now, you can add the Asana app into your Teams meeting invite so that during a meeting, you can easily create new action items. After the meeting, everyone can see the action items in the project plan and start working through them.

Another great tool that customers can use in their meetings is Slido. Slido enables you to plan and conduct live polls, quizzes, and Q&As in the Teams meetings experience without having to toggle back and forth between the app and the meeting.

Finally, Wakelet allows you to save links from any Microsoft Teams message in the Wakelet app. This can then use bookmarks and collections to ensure you never lose any shared content from your colleagues.

These apps will join the pool of over 700 apps already in use on the Teams apps store, so make sure you keep updated so that your business can run as smoothly as possible with fewer interruptions and a better utilisation of the technology available.
